Hello all!
I've wanted to start a blog for a while now but never knew where to start. But now that I am heading to Galway, Ireland for six weeks to study at the Irish Centre for Human Rights at the National University of Ireland and then one week through Italy afterwards, I guess there's no perfect time then now to share my adventures!
I've dreamed of this day for so long and one of the primary reasons for applying to my current law school was because of this program. I know that this experience will give me the tools and knowledge I need to further my aspirations in the field of international human rights law and see where I can creatively pave my own path. That being said, now that the day has finally arrive it feels unreal. Suddenly I am filled with questions of,
"What amazing things will I learn?"
"What should I expect?"
"Who will I meet?"
"Wait...what will I eat?!" (as I am a pescatarian)
"Oh crap, I have the worst sense of direction, what will I do if I get lost? Follow the sheep?!"
"Omg, will I seriously be the only brown person?!"
Clearly, as I think more about it, my thoughts become more ridiculous.
I know something amazing awaits me and the universe would not have presented this opportunity to me if it were otherwise. Every new experience comes with a bit of nervousness but once you get past those butterflies, there's only a wide open meadow of excitement and possibilities.
I hope to keep this up to date as much as possible with pictures, stories and any other unexpected, peculiar or just plain randomness that occurs in my life...so let the adventures begin!
Peace & love,
Monique
